Dear future colleague, congratulations with the job and welcome as a part of the Ruths Hotel family.
As an introduction to your future workplace, here is a sneak peek at everyday life as an employee at the hotel.
On one of the first Mondays in the period 15/6 – 15/8 you are invited to a walk'n talk, a tour of the hotel with practical information,
the ownership, the organization, the culture and stories from the neighborhood.
We encourage you to take a look at the hotel's website, here you will find relevant information on everything from the seasonal menu, event topics to exclusive products and the range of facilities.

At Ruths Hotel, we do not "just" distinguish ourselves by being a
nationally known hotel, with service and gastronomy of the highest class.
Our ambition is driven by dedicated employees, and we want to be a beacon in the industry.
As a workplace, we make an effort to attract the worlds most talented employees and give them,
responsibility to excel in an environment full of expertise and professional competence. This creates a synergy,
where employees quickly become part of the team, contributing on a daily basis to achieving new results and testing ideas.
"With a summer job at Ruths Hotel, you invest in yourself,
all the while acquiring skills from the top shelf."

Meet Ida and Kris, who tells a little about the excitement, togetherness and having moved north for the start of the 2022 season. (Soory, but it`s in Danish)
With Ruths Hotel as a workplace, you can look forward to:
Experience with both a fast-paced brasserie, an acclaimed gourmet restaurant, classic parties, and events. This variety with such a consistently high level cannot be found anywhere else in the country. In other words, you will gain a lot of insight, inspiration and, not least, invaluable experience with Danish world-class service and gastronomy.
A close collaboration across disciplines; waiters, bartender, sommelier, pastry chefs, specialist chefs etc. We have a super strong team where we take care of each other. This applies to both those with many years of seniority and those just starting out.
NOTE: We also offer staff accommodation - which makes getting started easy.
Flexible working conditions, where you are part of a large team with many skills to learn from. We make room for ambition and for developing the skills that are the most passionate. In addition, as a larger workplace, we can offer shift plans based on individual wishes, whether leisure, leisure interests or competitions must be taken into account.
Magnificent nature right outside the door. Our location at Skagerrak in the middle of the idyllic Gl. Skagen is not only attractive to our guests. The raw and magnificent surroundings are actively used by the staff. It is obvious to take advantage of running routes through the terrain, MTB tracks in the dune plantation and the many opportunities for activities on the beach/sea. The effect of a walk through the characteristic landscapes should certainly not be underestimated either. In addition, we arrange trips with e.g. collecting berries, herbs, mushrooms and everything else unique that the local area has to offer.
Insights and experiences that no one else can offer! We have a sincere enthusiasm for raw materials, wine etc. of the very highest quality, and we therefore have close cooperation with specially selected suppliers. In this connection, we arrange trips with professional content, both to local fishermen and niche producers as well as, for example, wineries and Rungis in France. For the extra adventurous, we can also offer short and longer internships at several of the best restaurants in the world via our network.
The best equipment, from kitchen knives to hobs. There is a focus on the smallest details, and everything must be top notch. It is therefore a necessity not to skimp on equipment.
In 2023, we have just put the new high-tech super kitchen into use, the kitchen is the hotel's main kitchen. Only the best is good enough, and the new features include an intelligent ceiling, worktops with temperature control and much more. In the main kitchen, restaurant Okè houses hot dishes that are served at breakfast and raw materials are processed for Ruth's Brasserie. The dishes, the cold kitchen and the staff facilities have also been renovated and significantly improved to the benefit of both the work processes and the working conditions for the entire staff.
In 2021, the hotel's Brasserie kitchen was completely renovated, which has given both updated "stuff" and work satisfaction.
Knowledge of it all. Our professional pride means that we relate to good craftsmanship and quality products. We collaborate across departments with knowledge sharing, in order to dress each other as best as possible to give our guests an unforgettable experience. For example, we give you knowledge about baked goods, pastry art and fermentation. But also advanced gastronomic techniques, such as cooking a stock from scratch, as well as personal recipes and tricks.
Another aspect where top-shelf quality is also involved is our wine list. A job with us guarantees a specialized knowledge of the interaction between food and drinks. Including wine, but also our alcohol-free alternatives in Okê, which are created from scratch. Curiosity and the desire to improve oneself characterize all the staff at Ruths Hotel and we look forward to having you on the team.
Emma was trained as a chef from Ruths Hotel in February 2022. A stay in Italy at a Michelin restaurant awaits. After this we are lucky enough that Emma returns and takes another summer season with us in Gl. Skagen before new adventures await.
In the clip, Emma and Jack tell more about what makes Ruth's Hotel an attractive place for students. For example, the great variety in work tasks, the high quality of raw materials and then of course the fast-paced summer season.
